This was our 6th cruise. We cruised on the Carnival Paradise twice, the Carnival Miracle twice and a Royal Caribbean ship once. We think Carnival is the best. My husband and I went with our son (22) and two daughters (20 and 18). This was our youngest daughter's graduation present. Several other families joined us. Before the cruise, I researched alot to help the group plan excursions and give them cruise tips. I started about 10 months before the cruise planning it-several had never cruised before and I wanted this to be the best vacation they had ever had. Day before cruise: We flew down to Ft. Lauderdale and spent the night at the Best Western Airport Hotel. They had free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Our room was $99 and had complimentary breakfast. Sunday: I searched on the internet 4 months before the cruise and called several shuttle services and found SunandMoonExpress to have the best price for round-trip tickets. Edwin was very helpful and provided excellent service. We were picked up in two vans at 11:00 on Sunday morning and arrived at Port of Miami in about 30 minutes. We were on the ship eating lunch by 12:30.

Monday: Our first day at sea was very relaxing. One of our friends had a terrible toothache that evening at dinner and was in terrible pain all night. He ended up getting a root canal in Grand Cayman the next morning. We were glad that was our first port. After the root canal, he felt good the rest of the cruise. On Monday night, one of the members of our group had a bad reaction to the patch. She fell down 3 times and was not herself. The doctor onboard made her check in with him before she could get off the ship for several days. He said she should have taken the patch off some. It took about two days to wear off. At Grand Cayman, she spent her whole day in a wheelchair on the ship.

Tuesday: Grand Cayman was our first port. Our family had been there 2 previous times. This was my least favorite port. Some of our friends took a taxi to the Black Pearl Skateboard park. It is the 2nd largest skateboard park in the world. They had a great time. Our son doesn't skateboard but had a blast riding the waves there. Because it was a rainy day, there weren't many people there besides them.

WE had an oceanview room on riviera deck. Alittle noisey a couple of nights. Room size was good for 3 in a room.
