On the morning of June 10th, we took Continental from Cleveland to Newark NJ. The flight was good and on-time. When we arrived in EWR a Carnival rep was waiting for us in baggage claim. She then took us to a van that would take us to the ship, there was only one other couple in the van and they were going on the Victory. I thought it was strange we were the only ones going on the Miracle, but then again most people were from the NY area. Once we arrived at pier 90 in Ny city, we checked in at the pier. We did have to wait about 1.5 hours before we boarded but no biggie.
Once on the ship we found our cabin 8226 quickly, and headed directly to the maitre'd because we had late seating and my wife was not to happy about that. He really tried to talk us into late seating, but we didn't want it, its just too late for us. He did later send us a card to our cabin changing us to early dining. We grabbed lunch on the lido deck, which was good. We ate all of our lunches there. We really like the deli sandwiches. Later we went to dining room, which frankly is butt ugly all kinds of purple grapes everywhere. Our waiter was not great, but ok. He just didn't try to get to know us. He took our orders and thats about it, no small talk. We had the first two days at sea, which is great. We love to just sit around and relax. The cruise director Brett, is kinda boring. but the assistant "Big Sexy" was funny. All the shows on board were good I thought, Especially the female impersonator singer. We had our first formal night and most people dressed up, but there is always someone that just doesn't get it. I would have to say that the average age was about 45 on this cruise, not alot kids. But they were all behaved.
Port 1 , San Juan be there done that. We only left the ship to buy some Coke and the store across the street. There really isn't much to do here.
