Five years ago, my sisters and I took our first cruise aboard the Carnival Imagination. That was the year my oldest sister turned 40. Being our first cruise experience, everything was new and fun and fast paced--to the point of being very tired when it was over.
Fast forward to 2008 and 4 cruises later (this being my 5th) and we have our Adventure of the Seas Cruise to the Southern Caribbean. What a gorgeous ship! I had just returned from a cruise on the NCL Pearl which is just as beautiful--maybe a bit more beautiful that this ship as it is newer but I was not disappointed with AOS.
One of my sisters lives in Hawaii, the other in Missouri and I live in Minnesota. We chose the June date as it fit with school schedules and we did not want to chance Hurricane season as my birthday is actually in September. We each booked our flights the day of our sailing--keeping our fingers crossed that we would arrive in time! We ended up meeting at the San Juan airport--all landing within an hour of each other and had no problems with gathering luggage and securing a taxi--cost about $31 with 3 people and 6 pieces of luggage.
8568 was a great room. Wish it had been a bit bigger. We had 3 adults in here and my sister slept in the "bunk" The bed was made into a king size which was fine for my other sister and I as to put two twins would hvae made the room very small. We had a goodlocation mid-ship--close to both sets of elevators. If I did it all over again, I would have moved further down the hall aft--as that was where we found ourselves most often. Floor was quiet. Rooms were fairly quiet and like the sliding door to the balcony.
