We flew into Orlando Airport Saturday am and were picked up at the airport by a private driver. The drive to the port is about 45 minutes and there is NOTHING on the way to the port so if you need something, shop in the airport....Once we got a wheel chair for our Grandmother, we were quickly rolled right on ship about 11am....we had a suite so we got VIP check in...The nicest man helped us embark and we had absolutely no waiting at all.... Once on board, we went upstairs to the red sail dining room and ate lunch. It is the usual buffet food served and was pretty good. People were already swimming and drinking those yummy funship specials. The ship was spotless and as always the staff members were anxious to serve you anything you could possibly want or need. The colors in the Atrium were really pretty and the entire ship was decorated so lovely. About 1:30pm we went to our cabin and soon after our luggage was delivered. It was quite lovely. Cabin 7294 is a penthouse suite. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated nicely. There was a king size bed and a fold out sofa for 2 more. There is absolutely no way to make a fold out sofa comfortable and I don't recommend it for anyone but once we figured out to put 3 in the king size bed and just make up the sofa on top and not open it up, we all slept fine....(a little snug but at least comfortable). There is a nice stocked refrigerator and a small desk with mirrors. In addition to the sofa (L-shaped) there were 2 nice chairs and a marble coffee table. There is a safe that you open/close with a credit card. Also, a very nice dressing room with a sink and mirrors. The bathroom was very nice sized. It had 2 sinks, a whirlpool tub/shower with sliding doors and a bidet in addition to the toilet. The shower/tub was very good sized and it was very nice not to fight the shower curtain lol....The room has ample places for unpacking. There was a 2 sided closet as soon as you walk in the door, another in the dressing room and then another beside the bed. Also 8 drawers with another marble counter on top beside the bed for more storage. There is also storage drawers in the dressing room. The balcony had 3 chairs and a small table. It was nice sized and quite enjoyable to be able to go outside and watch the people in ports or the open seas. The sunset pictures in St Thomas are breathtaking. We had 2 big picture windows as well as the door which also has a window. Our cabin stewardess was Marianne and was as sweet as they come and quite talented with those towel animals. After the dreaded muster drill, we were off to sea and having a blast!! :) The food in the Red Sail dining room is pretty good. They have a little of everything and when you are hungry....it is delicious. lol Out by the pool, there is a grill where pretty good hamburgers and hotdogs are cooked to order. Also they have a nice grill that serves various hot sandwiches, Reubens, grilled steaks, etc. Yummy skinny french fries...Of course the ice cream flows freely at all times and was mmmm good lol...the 24 hr pizza is not bad. I think they serve chinese or japanese somewhere up there but I didn't try it. My friend ate some sushi from their sushi bar and thought it was good. From experience the drinks were pricey but I highly recommend the "funship specials, bahama mama's and strawberry daiquiri's" lol :) Also, we always get the fountain card as we are heavy diet coke drinkers and we got our moneys worth! Even at dinner, after we ordered a diet coke at dinner the first night, they brought them without having to ask each night after. The first nights dinner, we ate in the golden dining room at late seating and loved our table mates but it was too late for Grandmother to eat so we got that changed to early seating. (If you need to change dinner arrangements, go to the dining room early on the first day). We were moved to the Platinum dining room and met some more nice table mates and our table waiter "ROGER MOORE AKA 007".....he is the sweetest funniest waiter and we fell in love with him....he and his assistant waiter Cy (who always had the sweetest smile) served us some of the most delicious food....outstanding prime rib, french onion soup and chocolate melting cake.....mmmm to die for!!! Grandma had 3 desserts every night and was in "HAWG HEAVEN"... lol Both waiters offered to get us more food if we liked something or another dish...anything to accommodate us...I was very pleased with the food as always in the dining rooms. Everything was served so beautifully. We have taken this same trip before on the Valor so we had been to all the ports. We loved them so much, we had to go again. The first port was Nassau and after the LONG walk to the city (they do have a golf cart shuttling people back and forth but it is crowded and a little wait) we didn't do anything but go "shopping" in the straw market....that was our only intention though lol plus the stop there was only a few hours....the locals will try to sell you things at a "good buy" BUT are easily brought down to what your price is if you stick to your guns...I got several purses at what I thought were good buys and found out my friend got the same purses about $5-10 bucks cheaper....grrr lol St Thomas was our next stop. We took a taxi ride down town and wandered through the alley's shopping. My daughter loved the Pirates store. They have some great buys for really nice jewelry. We ate lunch in a nice Italian restaurant up from the Rolex store with outside tables. Grandmama and I sat in the little park while the others shopped in the straw market. It was peaceful and shady with a little breeze. We took a taxi back to the ship...one of those open taxi's where you could see everything....I wish we had taken a tour of the city but we were tired and ready to head back to rest a bit... St Maarten was the last stop. Only 2 of our group got off the ship....They took a water taxi to the island and went shopping....Lots of good buys on jewelry. They ate at a delicious French bakery and got pannini's and French pastries....they raved about how wonderful it was. They brought us back some delicious handmade chocolate... While on the ship, we took advantage of the ships spa....I got the pick 4 special and had the head and neck massage (mmmmmmmm), the facial (felt devine), hand and arm massage (very relaxing) and the foot and leg massage (OH YESSSSS).....they cater to you and make you feel like a princess. Grandma got her hair done twice and acupuncture (the acupuncturist was from Spain and had dreamy eyes)...lol...my friend had the head to top massage and was floating when she left)... We didn't go to as many shows this time. We saw 2 and both were good. The dancers are always great and the singers are always enjoyable. We did see the r rated comedian one night and I didn't really care for him....he played a guitar and cracked sex jokes....I enjoy a good dirty joke and am certainly not a prude but he was just plain gross....I have always loved the R rated comedians but he was not my cup of tea. The entertainment staff was a lot of fun....Mark the cruise ship director was a riot...he hurt his ankle and had to miss a few things but he was very funny....Cory, Dan, Phil, Jason were all so much fun....Always making people laugh....We enjoyed trying to figure out the murder mystery...We always play Bingo....we never win but we love trying....2 of our group went out dancing and partying at one of the parties and had a blast. Debarkation was the fastest I have ever seen on any ship. We were off the ship in record time....the Glory has this down to a fine science....very impressive!! Customs was even a breeze!! THANK GOODNESS LOL We had the private driver pick us up at the port....he had a nice SUV and was such a help to us and really nice....His name was Ed Korgan and we found him on the internet. Just search for Ed Korgan in the Orlando area online. We really loved him. Such a nice guy and highly recommended. Overall, we had a great cruise....always a good time and we will cruise again SOON with Carnival.... We can NOT wait for the DREAM :)

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Cabin 7294 Category 12 penthouse suite. Had 3 large closets, 8 drawers plus more draw space for cosmetics in the dressing room...

Large size balcony, quiet location, wonderful view in the ports. Close to the main elevators. I felt it was worth the extra money. Wouldnt recommend the fold out sofa but if only need for one person, they can make it up closed and it is nice and comfy...
