Arrival. We drove to Galveston. After dropping off passengers and bags I parked in the City lot. Ten dollars a day or fifty for the cruise. There are cheaper alternatives but security and excellent shuttle service argue for the City lots.
Embarkation. Good. My wife turned over the bags to a porter and they eventually showed up on the ship. She got in line and I joined her after parking the car. The line was long but there were plenty of agents and it went quickly, especially if you have pre-registered on the Carnival web site.
Cabin. Not bad. Adequate size very clean and kept that way by our excellent cabin steward. We had an inside cabin which was all we good get ay the late date we booked the cruise. We had our two grandchildren with us for four in the cabin and it was ok. In eight cruises we have never had an inside before and thought we would not like it. However it was relatively quite and comfortable even though it was way aft and on the next to the bottom passenger deck.
