First of all, I have to say the cruise turned out to be much better than what we expected. Since it was our first cruise and we had heard so much about cruising, e.g., pros and cons & etc, we were very excited but at the same time a little concerned how the first cruise experience would unfold. With that in mind, here are some details.

Embarkation: we (family of four) flew into FLL in the morning of the departure and took a taxi to the ship (we paid $80.00 including tip). Flying into FLL was much cheaper than flying into Miami even with the taxi fare for four of us. We arrived at the pier around 1130AM and, though there were many people already there we were able to breeze through the embarkation process. I was worried that there might be some delays due to certain happenings that I had read in the reviews, but turned out that there was no glitches this time around and we were on the ship in less than 30 minutes. We then went directly to Sorrento's for pizza lunch. We avoided going to Windjammer because I heard it tended to get crowded on the embarkation day, and the Sorrento's pizzas were actually pretty good!

Room: We had an Ocean-View room on the deck 3, which was small but had everything we needed. It got little crowded occasionally for four of us but we were able to manage. The location of the room was very convenient for us to do the activities on the ship. The elevator was around the corner and we were always the first ones to get in if we wanted to go up, and the proximity to the platinum theater made going to the shows very easy. Also, we always used the side deck on deck 4 when we went to the main dining hall at AFT, and it was so easy and pleasant to take a stroll on the deck before and after the meals.
