Ship Facts: Liberty of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Liberty of the Seas Deck Plans
MAH-VEL-OUS!
Liberty of the Seas is a spectacular ship. It is well designed and easy to navigate once you get your bearings!

We stayed over in Ft. Lauderdale and shuttled to the Port of Miami. Stayed at the Ramada in Hollywood, FL. Great service, right on the beach.

We did have a glitch during embarkation..had to wait over two hours..most standing in line. The Coast Guard took a long time to release the ship. BUT, after that, the line went quickly and we were enjoying our cruise within minutes!!

We were very apprehensive about cruising with 4,000 others, but, amazing as it sounds, we could always find personal space and never had to wait in long lines. We always found seats in the dining areas, lounges and other public areas.

The ship has a great H2O waterpark area for children. We did not have any with us, but we enjoyed the adult only solarium with pools and hot tubs. Always found a deck chair..and loved the frozen yogurt station.

There are so many activities on board; flow runner, climbing wall, miniature golf, sports pool, basketball court etc. Absolutely no reason to be bored. We wanted to take this cruise to relax..and relax we did! While we could take part in as many activities as we wished, we could also relax on deck and read our novels. The Ice Skating Show was absolutely amazing..we loved it. The other shows were good too. The backdrops were amazing..as good as Broadway. Only one complaint...TOO LOUD!!

There was music for every taste. We personally loved the Jazz.

We took scrapbooking classes and learned how to fold napkins and towels..such fun!

The SPA was absolutely wonderful. That's the first thing I did..and it just set the tone for the rest of our R&R. Very professional and very good.

The food in the dining room was good. If one was not happy with the quality, one had choices to go to other restaurants at an additional charge. Personally, we liked the food and did not try a speciality restaurant.

The ports of call; Labadee, Haiti, Georgetown, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cozumel, Mexico. Frankly, we were disappointed. While we enjoyed the beach at Labadee, we were concerned for our safety. At the top of the mountain for the zip line, armed men stood ready with machine guns, lining the mountain tops. And the shopping..was AWFUL. Men and women pulling you and yelling for you to come and see their wares. Hated that. Grand Cayman is fine..but only had time to do the "tourist" things and was dismayed to see Pizza Hut, Burger King..etc..so commercial. Once we docked in Montego Bay, we saw that the dock was surrounded by barbed wire and security guards..we decided to stay on the ship. Cozumel was fine, but again, it seemed that everywhere we were, security was extremely heavy.

I would definitely choose this ship again, but wish she would sail to different ports of call.

The service we received was impeccable. RCL really gave us the WOW factor on this trip. We had a magical time..not even in Disney!!

Leaving the ship was again quite a wait..but, that is to be expected and we just relaxed and read magazines until our color was called.

One thing that we giggled about and will always remember is that as an opening line to our "new friends" and fellow passengers, we would always ask why they traveled on this ship and if they wanted to because of Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel..who traveled on sister ship, Freedom of the Seas. I was amazed that almost all had watched that show and wanted to travel on this ship because of it! RCL owes Samantha Brown big time!!

We came home relaxed and rejuvenated from our delightful experience on Liberty of the Seas. THANKS!
