We had a party of 10 traveling with us, 3 cabins booked in L category and one booked in an Owner's Suite. My immediate family consisted of our twin 4 yr olds and 6 yr old, in a cabin adjoining my husband and my cabin. DH and I have cruised 14 times prior to this, and at the young age of 30's are cruise junkies. We have cruised the past 6 times on Royal Caribbean continuously, and our 2nd time in 8 months on Mariner with our children.

Pre-Cruise: Our pre-cruise was a stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Port Canaveral. We booked the 2BR suite and was a wonderful amount of space for all of us. They served a buffet breakfast in the AM, which had plenty of variety. And they kept your vehicles for no charge for the week and shuttled to for $3 pp each way. We had so much luggage between all the families, that we had the men take us and the children to port, drop off and then return to hotel (only maybe 2 miles away from port) and only the men shuttled. The downside to shuttle, is even though you are booked and we were only second in line on the paper list, when we registered our name, they took u based on where u were in line physically. Was A BAD experience. We were booked for 11:30. They were there at 11:20 and since physically they were back in line, they did not get on a shuttle until 12:45...was AWFUL. I recommend leaving car at hotel free of charge and then just take a cab. So close to port, would not cost much and a lot less aggravation.

Embarkation: Embarkation from Port Canaveral was easy. PC has a smooth check-in, while still being efficient. They processed everyone with ease. And I will state... I highly recommend Passports. We had birth certificates and even though not a issue, was sort of an ordeal, since I have maiden on BC and married name on license. But, since license had maiden spelled out (not initial only), she said that was fine. Did see a couple that only had BC and her name on license was married, that did not have her maiden on it and no wedding license, they would NOT let her board. Was sad....so get PASSPORTS, no question for us next cruise.
