We were first time cruisers, and the Carnival Freedom was an excellent choice!!

Staff The staff was friendly, accommodating and everywhere!! No need went unmet, they had a smile from day one to day fourteen. They attempted to get to know their guests on a personal level, and also made an effort to learn consistent dining and cabin habits.

Food The wait staff was fantastic, friendly and entertaining. The Maitre'd was non existent for the entire 2 weeks, So we were a little unsure about why Carnival pressed for us to tip him extra. The food was good..at first, but became a bit repetitive after a few days. Themed nights would have been appreciated or at least a variety of meals other than beef and salmon. The sun King Supper club is fully worth the 30 dollars, as the food was outstanding, as well as the service. The porterhouse is a MUST.

Entertainment Todd the cruise director and his fun crew were outstanding. They worked non stop to consistently and always More had a smile. Todd himself worked to do everything possible to make sure guests were happy, and they ventured out to try new and exciting methods of entertainment (IE, murder mystery and horse racing). Noortje the assistant director, can be misunderstood because she comes from a different culture and appears quite serious and put off. However she truly is a wonderful person and fantastic at her job. Although first impressions were not good, she quickly grew on us.

There are a variety of things to do on the ship, you cannot be bored unless you want to be. Trivia, casinos, games, shows, classes, there was an endless stream of activities. In fact we often forgot we were at sea

Overall

Overall for our first cruise and money spent this experience has exceeded all expectations. We were three of the youngest cruisers among a ship of 3000 senior travellers, and still had an excellent time. Many of the other guests had numerous complaints throughout the voyage but we found it to be a wonderful experience with great people and will definitely look to carnival for our next cruise. Less
