This was our first cruise with Holland America. We are either side of 60 and have been cruising for the past 5 years. Our previous cruises have been on Princess and Celebrity; although we liked both cruise lines, we are now Holland America converts. The staff was professional from the embarkation to the disembarkation. Here is our breakdown:

Embarkation/Disembarkation - We transferred from the Rome airport to the port via H/A. Went fine. When we arrived at the port, there were about 50 processing agents. We had all of our information processed within 10 minutes. We commented about the efficiency at the time. Our disembarkation was scheduled to leave at 9:30. We pulled out at 9:32. They said the trip to Rome would take 90 minutes. It took 90 minutes. Most of the cruise went like that. It is evident that H/A is good at what they do.

State room - When we boarded, our room was ready (around 12 PM). Initially, we thought the room a little small; however, when we finally loaded up all the closets, drawers, and shelves, we found the room to be very comfortable. It held everything we brought. The room was clean, well presented - we were very pleased. Finally, our stewards were very efficient in cleaning our room and responding to our daily needs. Solid A
