Sail Date: Apr 2008
Cabin: Vista Suite with Balcony

We were in heaven for two weeks on the Crown on the 4/19 and 4/26 sailings. Six months ago when we booked, we tried to book 2 one week cruises (this would have been our 15th and 16th "Elite status" Princess cruises). However, Princess indicated to our travel agent that she should book it as one 14 day cruise.

Even six months before the cruise, we couldn't book a mini-suite as all mini's and suites were already sold out for the 1st week. Every cabin category was available for the second week at that time. Turns out that New England schools did Spring Break very late because Easter was so early. The first week had lots of families (and it was Passover weekend too so there were lots of Jewish families too). So we booked a balcony cabin and went on the waitlist for a mini. Eventually we got a "mini-suite guarantee" but without a cabin number until the week before the cruise.

When I finally saw the cabin number in the Cruise Personalizer I didn't think anything of it because it was on Dolphin Deck which is the full deck of mini-suites. I went to the Princess website and looked at the deck plan. We had a very high number D737 so I scrolled to the back of the ship and right before my eyes--this wasn't a mini, it was a full Vista Suite facing the back of the ship.
