This was my first cruise and I was very excited. Our flight down to New Orleans cancelled so we had to drive from Michigan just to make it on time. We arrived at noon and just went to get in line to board the ship. Our room was ready at 1:30 so we went to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised. As a flight attendant I have gotten used to interesting sleeping conditions but this was far better than I expected. Our steward was excellent and our room was ALWAYS spotless, he even took my hair dryer and wrapped up the cord and placed it on the seat under the desk. Our dinner seating was the late one in the Jubilee Room. Silvio was our server and he was awesome. He made very good suggestions and always kept our tea and water glasses full.

Day at sea: We had a couple's massage early. It was great. The spa had very professional people. Hayley from England was GREAT! We ate breakfast and lunch on the Lido deck. The food was plentiful and very decent. The deli was my favorite place for lunch and a light snack. The make-shift Newlywed Game was great. Big Tex had to stop a few times because he just kept laughing. He was a great entertainer. This night was formal night. I didn't make it to dinner because I was so tried from the drive. Progresso: We were very excited about our excursion. We signed up for the Mayan Ruins and Beach Break. Our excitement quickly vanished as we were told that we needed cash. As a flight attendant who has traveled around the world I have NEVER needed cash. We are told that using American currency makes us a target. When we got to the ruins we took a quick 1hr 30min tour and went back for lunch, where we could only use cash. We boarded the bus and drove through an interesting part of town to get to the beach break. We got off at a house, went around back to our beach break area. The internet said resort with 2 pools. However, we only had 1 pool which was occupied by the local kids. The beach part was taped off because the other parts of the beach belonged to the other houses in the area. There was a fishing boat tied up in the water right where we would get into the water. It was Cinco de Mayo so the party got started very quickly. The beach break turned into a beach party very fast. You could see inside the house where they were preparing the food which was $10/plate, cash only. Once we got back to the ship we tried to get cash out so we could shop a little, however the only ATM on the ship had no cash left in it. Guess we know this for next time. Cozumel: This stop was absolutely beautiful. We did the Twister which stopped at Passion Island. The boat ride was too short but was a lot of fun. We were at the island for about 4 hours which seemed really long in the beginning. However there was a lot to do there. They had segways, atv's, canoes, paddleboats, and a tramp in the water. The time there went rather quickly. The boat ride back to the pier was also really quick. The total time on the boat was less than an hour. We were really hoping for more time on the boat. Once we all were back on the ship we encountered a mechanical problem. We ended up leaving 2 hrs late. That night for dinner our table was rattling. You couldn't hear the person next to you.

Day at sea: Around 11am we found out that the left engine was having problems and that we would be getting in late. The rattling had stopped but we weren't going as fast as the other day. We took this day to just enjoy our last day in peace.
