I am 53 and DH is 48. We have cruised once on Carnival and 3 times on Royal Caribbean. We are always working so all of our cruises have been 4 days. We had always wanted to go on Princess but they only do 7 day cruises and we didn't think we were "ready" for 7 days on a ship. We found Carnival to be a "party" ship, nice but not for every cruise. Royal Caribbean was more to our liking and the food was not great but better. We like to book suites because we feel that it adds so much to our experience than just a room. When I received an email that stated Princess was going to do 3 and 4 day due to dry dock cancellation we jumped on it that day.

We booked the Vista Suite Aft on the Dolphin Deck after searching for photos and reading all of the reviews.

Since our cruise vacation was going to be so short we decided to spend a couple of nights in Fort Lauderdale to lengthen our vacation. We stayed at Lago Mar on Fort Lauderdale Beach in a suite. It is the most wonderful property. It is not on the strip with all of the crowds. It is tucked away behind a neighborhood on a wonderful almost private beach. The rooms were immaculate and the service was fantastic. When I mention the service there are no words to describe how friendly and gracious all of the staff are at Lago Mar. The property has everything that you would need to enjoy yourself, wonderful restaurant, gorgeous pool area, I can't say enough good things about Lago Mar. Treat yourself and stay there on your next cruise from Fort Lauderdale.
