I decided to take the CB out of Fort Lauderdale because it was a reasonable price and my kids were off from school. I flew into Fort Lauderdale on Saturday. Spent the night in Springfield suites, a very nice hotel and it was only a couple of minutes away from the cruise port. The Embarkation went fairly smoothly. When I first got on I was going to go to the sitdown lunch because I have heard that the buffet is a mad house. I got into the sitdown very easily, there were only 2 other families there. I realized how big the ship was. Definitely the biggest ship I have been on. The Muster drill was at 4:15 that day, and was annoying as usual. Entertainment- Overall I would give the shows 7 out of 10. The hypnotist was really funny. The comedian was pretty good. I was very disappointed in the show piano man; it was just one of those production shows. I did not like the production shows at all, I thought they were very boring. I though the entertainment staff was very good. The cruise director on the CB was by far the best cruise director I have had. Food- I though the breakfast buffet was good, I had the omelets from the omelet station every day. They were very good. I mostly went to the sit-down lunch because I do not like those lunch buffets. The food in the Coral Dining room, which was where I ate, was better than I expected. I have to say there was too much fish on the menu and I do not eat fish. The soups were not that good and they were very salty. I felt that the waiters were not as friendly as the ones on the past cruises I have been on. St Martin- I went to Orient Beach, It was really nice and had a lot of fun. St. Thomas- Went to Magen's Bay, and I had a good time. The cab was very expensive. It was like $80 to go to and from the beach. Princess Cays- By far the nicest Private Island I have been to. If you are going to buy anything go behind the fence near the bridge, it is a lot cheaper. I liked that they had the people waiting for the tender go in the Princess Theater because in the past it gets very crowded on the lower decks. Disembarkation- I did the express because it does not take as long. I got out within 10 minutes and though that was run really well. Overall- I really enjoyed the cruise. If you are bringing kids this time a year, just be aware the crowd on the ship was very old. They were very cranky at times and very annoying at the buffets. They like to push people around on the buffet lines. The pools were freshwater and not as crowded as usually on a ship because there were so many. Ping pong was very fun but once in a while there would be some drunken guys playing who played for over an hour. I did not like the fact that they did not have a full basketball court. Not many people were able to play at a time. It was a mini tennis court to and in the morning it was used for paddle tennis, which I never got to play. Overall I really enjoyed the cruise and would cruise with Princess again.
