This was our first cruise. We usually go to All inclusive in Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic or go to Florida. This year we decided to trip a cruise.

We booked through our local travel agent the Carnival Fly Aweigh. We flew into Fort Lauderdale Airport from Montreal, we were picked up by a Carnival Rep, and taken to The Airport Hilton. Really nice hotel, only problem breakfast was like 15.00 each for a cold buffet, we passed on that. Our shuttle picked us up around noon, and took us to the Port Everglades. It was mass confusion, tons of people, tons and tons of luggage everywhere. It probably took us about an hour and half to get through all the security, check points to finally get on the ship. Having the Fun Pass check in didn't help. It was discouraging enough to scrape any plans for a farther cruise. If you arrived later in the day or probably earlier, after the masses embarked then you probably could walk onto the ship,. which we did see some people doing, but if you are on a shuttle and that is the time they take you, then you do not have a choice. I read about people packing booze in their checked luggage, there would be no way every piece of luggage could be checked, so I can see how easy this is done, given the amount of luggage we seen. When we finally got on the ship, we immediately got a Pina Colada..lol..we were kinda stressed. We got something to eat and went to our cabin and our luggage was waiting outside. We unpacked and went to tour the ship.

The Liberty is a huge ship and since it is our first cruise I can't compare it with another ship. We got upgraded to the Panorama deck - Dec 10 - cabin 1039 - only about 35 cabins on our side and very very quiet, no drunken, yelling people running up and down the halls, like on other decks, which we are very thankful for.. We loved the balcony, enjoyed early morning coffee watching the sun rise. Bed very comfortable, bathroom- tons of shelves for all your cosmetics, shampoos, etc, There are big fluffy robes hanging in the closet, make sure to hang them on the back of the bathroom door, as they take up a lot of room. Our Steward, Iwany?? we only see him a couple of times, never had to ask for anything extra. We tipped him at the end of the cruise. I used the Room Service every morning for coffee and juice. You have a card you fill out and hang on your door handle and tell them what time you want it delivered. Beach towels are left each day in your cabin to use at the pool or the port you are at. The cabin has tons of storage closets, drawers, shelves for all your clothes, in fact, we did not even use all the space. Store your suitcases under the bed.
