1st flew in the day before. Highly recommended due to delays in flights. If we flew in the day of we could have missed the boat. Took shuttle to port worked out great got there 11:30 took minutes to get on board. Ate at windjammer, pretty good food, lots of selection. Room ready by 1pm. Didn't get all our suitcases til after dinner. Liked our room, had a balcony which I love, but we were at the very front of the ship first cabin on deck seven and our balcony was very enclosed only a oval shaped cut out in the steel. I would not recommend a cabin at the end. Also, we had a connecting door in our cabin. I think the connecting door reduces some of the sound barrier. We could hear them and I am sure they could hear us. I have never noticed the people next to us before so I think it is due to the connecting door. If you don't need it don't get a cabin with one. That out of the way, we loved, loved the cruise. Luckily my MIL came with us because going with a baby would have been really hard without her. She was a good baby. The staff was awesome with her, very helpful. The kids loved the cruise. My 9 yr daughter loved the arcade too much. Note to parents check your kids account regularly so you don't have a arcade shock on the last day. $1.25 for each game, money goes fast there. My daughter met a friend early on and liked the kids program, but only if her friend was there. my 11yr old son didn't go more than 2-3 times. He said he didn't like it. I think he didn't give it a chance and he wanted to hang out with dad. The shows were good some better than others. Ice show really good. Activities fun. Played volleyball tournament, and basketball enjoyed getting involved. Food was really good in dinning room. And service was awesome for dinner and our room steward. Overall good food sometimes great, and great service. Went to Jamaica had a great time went to Sunset beach -good choice. Just went on our own. Grabbed a taxi nice place we all had a great time. Grand Cayman sting ray city with Capt Bryan had a great time. Cozumel scuba diving and snorkeling awesome. Would go again anytime with or without kids. It was a awesome vacation. Only downside was disembarking. Took 2 1/2 hours after we got off the ship. Our shuttle driver did wait for us (we heard other people weren't so luckily) but he also charged us another $100 to wait. We had a 2:20 flight and almost missed it. We even got off just a little before they called our tag. Still even that can't dampen a great time. Just go with the flow and don't let little things ruin your vacation.
