Introduction

This was my 4th cruise, but my first with Royal Caribbean. A year ago we did the same itinerary on HAL Oosterdam out of San Diego, so I'll provide some comparisons between the two cruises. We actually wanted to do HAL out of San Diego again, but the ship was full for this Spring Break week, so we went with the next closest cruise. Also, this time, as we were familiar with the ports, my family and I decided to forgo any ship scheduled excursions and do it on our own.
