Ok, this is my 4th cruise in the past 3 years! (never cruised before the last 3 years) The Carnival Pride was actually a very nice ship. Embarkation is ALWAYS a joke with whomever you decide to cruise with. We showed up late (on purpose) so we could be one of the last on board. Well, it still took 1.5 hours to do so. We live approx. 90 miles away so showing up at 3pm we figured we could check in and get right on the ship-NOT! If you show up at 3:45-4pm you can do so.

Upon boarding we went to our stateroom #1253 (towards the back of the ship (aft) and down low. I was told do not get a balcony because it is only Mexico. They were right! If you go to the Eastern Caribbean it is WELL worth it to get the balcony. Anyhow, did the safety up top-then off to the Buffet to gain the 10 pounds we all do on the cruise. It was very nice, looked and tasted fresh. Well laid out as well. They actually have Lemonade, Fruit punch, etc. too. Most cruises do not. The pizza kitchen is a great idea but it is just so so in taste and quality. The Lido deck 9 has Ice Cream 24 hours. Also on deck 9 (by the pool) is the Hot Dog, Hamburger, Steak Sandwich and Chicken Sandwich station...it is pretty darn good! Hot tip** get a double cheeseburger**our friend Robert gave us the tip and it was VERY good.

The main dining room was very formal and were treated excellent. Our friends from Seattle Joelle and Travis (and their daughter) were very nice too. The Prime Rib, Filet, New York, and lobster were all yummy. The appetizers, desserts as well. It is VERY nice! The sushi cart (free) is very good on deck 3 fwd.
