This was a family cruise with me, my wife and 7yr old daughter. We drove to San Diego from Phoenix 2 days early and went to Legoland the 1st day. This was a great cruise. No major mishaps, no drama, everything went as planned.

1st night in San Diego we stayed at the Ramada Carlsbad-by-the-Sea. It was $260 for the 3 of us including Legoland tickets for a day. We were looking for a nice hotel with breakfast included and heated pool and hot tub and this fit the bill. We had a room with pool view. Some reviews had complaints of freeway noise and we were close to the freeway side, but didn't hear much of anything. I recommend this hotel. Lots of families and 5 minutes to Legoland.

Legoland- Not too busy on Monday. Definitely geared for younger kids- probably under 10 or those scared of bigger or faster rides. There weren't too many rides but the lines were mostly very slow moving. On a busy day you probably wouldn't be able to do it all in 1 day. This day we were in luck and did everything we wanted. Hours were 10a-5p and we were there for all of it.
