We are a family of three, we traveled with our 4 year old. Previously we have only sailed Celebrity and we are looking forward to many future Princess cruises. Embarkation was easy and quick- just find out where the ship will be docked when you return as we parked our car at one pier and returned to another. Getting back to our car on arrival day was a nightmare and fortunately the only bad thing about the trip.

The Island Princess still has that "new car smell" and our cabin, C202 (a mini suite- totally worth the extra $ for a 10 day sailing), while it had no balcony, was right next to the "crew Only " door that led out to the front of the ship where we had a great view of entering the Panama Canal.

The service was fine- Celebrity has friendlier service, but one thing I can say- Princess waiters were quick! We chose the "anytime dining" option and it worked really well for us as we chose to dine every night at 7:30. We aren't big "table lingerers" and we were usually done by 9-9:15.
