I want to just start off saying that we're seasoned cruisers at 38 yrs old and took out 7 yr old son. My review will read a bit choppy...sorry but I'm not a good writer. Spring break cruise but no problems with kids or partying young adults. Were still perplexed by some of the negative reviews and at all the bad reviews. Is the ship showing some age? YES. Will it be obvious? NO. With the exception of a bit of loose carpet, wood rail needing stripping, a bit of rust here and there(I've seen this on ships less than 6 months old)she is holding up great. I say delay the drydock and discount cabins by $200. You just wont notice unless your looking for stuff. Were drinks watered down? NO. Was it difficult to get a seat in the Princess Theater? No. We had no problems 15 minutes before show time. How was the food? Very good. Best fillet I've had on a cruise. Best lobster I've had on a cruise. Second best pizza. Coffee was fine. How was Sabatini's? Good..........but not worth the TIME. 3 hours is too long to sit at dinner with your spouse. We just don't have that much to talk about. Free ice cream.......never saw it but $1.50 is fine with me for good soft serve and cone. Muster drill was the quickest we've experienced. They didn't even attempt to account for all passengers. Some advise. I cant stress enough to shoot for a room midship close to a lift. Saves a lot of walking. Pack a lanyard to put your room key on. You don't need a Coke card for everyone.Of the 2 buffets the BACK one had the better food and the fewest people. I found king crab legs and cracked crab claws on every night I went up. Definitely go there for breakfast to avoid all the people. But I really liked the Dining room breakfast much better. Don't get in the tender line to get off Princess keys in the last 75 minutes or so unless you just wait to be the last few off. The line goes from nothing to about 350 yards long in about 20 minutes creating a 30 minute wait in line. Don't buy any of the "junk" here. Its the most expensive stop. Buy trinkets, alcohol, tobacco and souvenirs in St Maarten where its way cheaper. Very nice stitched beach bags for $2 each. Usually $10-12. You can buy 20, use one to carry the other 19 and have your gifts covered for $40. Everyone just loved them and thinks I spent $10 or more on them.....HEHE. If you have anytime dining and find a waiter you like stop at the Maitre-d (sp) and reserve that table and time. I really recommend Ramil (Philippines) and (Mexico City Carlos) in the Coral Dining Room at table 320. Nice corner seating. Quiet with no floor traffic around you and a great window view. Formal night pictures.............forgot her name but shes Spanish and .....um......larger than average. Very nice and takes the best pictures. We bought 5 and 4 were from her. This was the first cruise that my son liked the kids program so kudos to them. WHAT A TREAT. It seems like either I've lost interest in many ship activities or this cruise had less to interest me. Casino staff was pleasant...........Barbara was fun and flirty. Overall we found the staff quite pleasant. Room steward made plenty of towel animals and the most creative I've seen. Mattresses were just fine so I'm assuming we had new ones. Balcony on Baha is fully covered but a bit smaller than some. Embarkation was a breeze. I would take the same trip without hesitation. For the same price I'd go on a newer ship, a larger ship, a Royal Caribbean ship or southern caribbean trip. I would also recommend this ship and itinerary to anyone. Let me list a complaint so you don't think I'm just a cheerleader. Princess Theater sits just forward of the cigar bar. Casino Texas Holdem poker table wasn't open enough. If you sit by the wings to the side stairs (lower level) it can be smoky. Seas were very cough and caused a terrible noise for about 1/4 of the trip. Sounded like those ships groaning noises on Titanic movie. Very very loud. Yes it is difficult to get pool chairs on sea days. Take a look around.........many chairs are stacked to the side at night. I saw people leave frustrated when there were still 20 or so chairs left. Never got an explanation of what it was. Bill wasn't correct.........maybe off by $30 or so. 2 room keys failed. Needed PICTURE ID to get kids from daycare.
