This was my third cruise and my girlfriend's second cruise. We both cruised with Royal Caribbean in the past, and I've done one with Holland America. This time we brought her two daughters with us (ages 11 and 18). Keep in mind when reading this review that I'm usually somewhat over critical when it comes to these reviews. I've been working in the service industry for luxury hotels and resorts for 14 years so I tend to scrutinize everything.

We arrived in New Orleans on Saturday, the day before the cruise left. We had dinner at a restaurant called K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen, which was opened in 1979 by chef Paul Prudhomme. The blackened stuffed pork chop was very good. The service was friendly and attentive. After dinner, we walked around the French Quarter for a little while and realized the bars and shops were not at all appropriate for 11 year olds, so we took the kids to bed. My girlfriend and I returned to Bourbon Street for some late night fun dancing and bar hopping and had a blast.

The following morning we went to a restaurant called "Petunia's" which is a landmark in New Orleans. There was a line for breakfast, and after waiting 30 minutes to get in we were seated. The breakfast took a very long time to get to our table (about 45 more minutes) - we asked about it and the waiter said it was best if he didn't ask the kitchen staff - apparently they don't get along when wait staff asks them to rush. The breakfast was very good, but it was cold. My girlfriend correctly pointed out that they should have at least warmed the plates to keep the food hot.
