My husband and I are in our early 40's and have cruised 5 times prior on other cruiselines. This was our first experience with NCL. We have 3 children (that we left at home with grandma) but plan to bring them on the next cruise. There were many children onboard due to Spring Break.

The ship is very beautiful. At first the ship seemed confusing to us, where restaurants, etc were scattered throughout the ship. But after time we got used to it. The balcony room was small, but we had plenty of room for everything. The balcony was large though. We enjoyed spending our time on the ship on the pool deck playing cards, enjoying the band, and enjoying a bucket of beers. On that note, I read in a previous review that someone successfully brought alcohol onboard. Be careful, we met another passenger that had her luggage confiscated due to her wine.. Instead, I suggest that you wait until you get to the first port, buy a bottle of water (onboard) and refill the waterbottle in port with a clear liquid of your choice (the alternative is to pay for the pricey drinks onboard).

The Versailles dining room was beautiful, and had wonderful food. We also enjoyed the alternative dining choices. The sushi bar was well worth the cost. The bbq eel was to die for. Le Bistro is the French Restaurant. We loved it so much that we went twice. The chateaubriand was worth the extra cost. We also tried Cagney's steakhouse, which we also loved. Although we were happy with the dining room, I think the intimate atmosphere is the alternative restaurants are worth the extra cost. However, by the end of the cruise we went back to the diningroom because we felt that the extra $30+ each night was overwhelming.
