Sail Date: Mar 2008

This was my 6th cruise with Princess, and I have to say it was probably one of the best. I booked this cruise in June of 2007, with the idea that to sail aboard the "Emerald" at St. Patrick's Day AND Easter would be a lucky cruise, and it was.

My friend and I arrived the day before the cruise on March 14th, and spent the night at the Renaissance Hotel. I had stayed there before and was more than happy with the service. These people really treated me good in the past, and certainly did this time too. March 15th was embarkation day. Princess picked us up at the hotel and took us to the ship which was only about two blocks away. Embarkation was a breeze, and took about 30 minutes total. Our luggage arrived about 2 hours later. When we planned this trip I had wanted to try a room at the back of the boat, and that's what we got. I'm glad we got it. Our room was large, had a nice sized shower AND a jacuzzi, a desk, a closet, a makeup area, and a beautiful full balcony, complete with teak dining table and chairs, and two loungers. Our room attendant was named Sommong, and she went out of her way to make sure we were well taken care of.

lst stop March 16th was Princess Cays. Since I had been there before I elected to stay on the ship and have a facial at the Lotus Spa. It was wonderful and I enjoyed it immensely. Be prepared if you go to the Lotus Spa for a massage or facial, they will try to sell you lots of "stuff". Not just "stuff" but EXPENSIVE "stuff". If you are aware of it you can be more selective and not run up a huge bill.
