Don't let anyone tell you that travelling to the US from the UK is easy especially when it will take over 24 hours and three planes to get to San Juan.

The long trip across 'the pond' (Manchester to Chicago - Chicago to Miami - Overnight in a hotel - then Miami to San Juan) and the fact that we had to sit separately on the flight from Miami to San Juan all pales into insignificance when you see the Crown Princess for the first time as you approach the port. The intake of breath on the coach from the airport was distinctly audible. For first time cruisers like us it definitely had the 'WOW' factor.

We were travelling on our honeymoon doing two cruises back to back and also celebrating my 40th birthday too around the Southern Caribbean. We set sail on 1st March and sadly had to leave on 15th March.
