Background: We were a group of 12 plus a nine month old baby. Ages ranged from the baby up to my 84 year old dad. All adults other then the baby and a 16 year old. So I won't have any comments on the kids club as we didn't use it. Of the 12 people, 6 had cruised before, 6 had not. None had ever sailed on Norwegian previously.

Pre-Cruise travel: We flew into Miami from Reagan International in Washington DC. Flight was delayed over 2 hours so we didn't arrive in Miami until after 11 pm. This was the worst part of the trip as the hotel had told us simply to call when we arrived and they would come pick us up. They were pre-warned that we were a large group but they said they could accommodate us with no problem. Waited 45 minutes for the van to arrive to be told they could only take 4 people and would have to return for the rest of us. We sent daughter, husband, baby and 84 year old father. They said that it would be almost an hour before they returned for us as they had other people that had been waiting a "long time" to be picked up and they had to get them first. We decided to find other transportation and found a Super Shuttle that could take the rest of us.

Although we didn't utilize much of the hotel since we arrived so late, it was a beautiful place. Beautiful rooms, excellent buffet breakfast which we ate by the pool. A very nice start to our vacation since our weather at home had been windy and cold. We truly felt like we were on our way to paradise. The hotel was the Holiday Inn Miami Airport West and in spite of the shuttle problem, we would highly recommend it. I doubt if you would have a problem with the shuttle if you aren't a large group.
