We really enjoyed the Southern Caribbean ports. Saw numerous Whales in Samana, Dominican republic (ship tour), had a good time snorkeling at the Indians in Tortola (ship tour), enjoyed a lovely beach day in Antigua, had an adventure Jet skiing in Barbados and enjoyed the lush island of St. Lucia (private guide).
This is our 2nd/ 3rd cruise on Norwegian cruise lines. Unfortunately we felt that the food's quality had decreased. As far as we saw, on the 9 day cruise, they never served lobster or even filet mignon in the main dinning room. In addition, the charges for the other restaurant's had increased, @ Cagney's even after paying the $20 cover charge per person if you wanted surf and turf you had to pay another $10. On prior trips we had been able to take advantage of a discount for making reservations early in the evening or late in the evening. Norwegian no longer offers this discount.
We enjoyed the ultra cool environment in the bliss lounge and had several very good mojito's. Also in the bliss lounge is the bowling lanes, unfortunately there was a $5 per person charge for this as well, to me this should have been included, other's must have felt the same way, because I rarely saw the lanes being used. The rock climbing wall was free though and a fun experience. In addition, they had WII on a 2 story screen which was great fun.
Our cabin stewards only made the beds and did very little to try and organize anything on the counters, as previous ones had done. In addition, they only did towel animals after we asked. The ship itself was very beautiful, we enjoyed all of the public areas.
Embarkation and Debarkation were very fast and we appreciated that. The "Sharkbait" Juggling/ comedy show was great fun. The 6 year old in the group loved the kids club.
