Traveled with children

We live on the West Coast but wanted to go somewhere warm for our kids' Spring Break earlier this month. We have almost 5 year old twins and had heard a lot of great things about the Disney cruises. We had been on 3 previous cruises with our extended family (2 of them with our kids) so were familiar with this approach to travel, and it's pros and cons. We had never been to the Caribbean so thought this was a great way to spend time with our kids, have some great kids programs and see a part of the world that we had no seen before, in a "no brainer" sort of way cruising offers.

As for all the basics, we were generally pleased. The service was great. The cabin was well designed for a family of 4, although we used our balcony little because there was so much smoking going on the balconies, it was very unpleasant (The cabins near us were non-smoking, but because it's allowed on the balconies, it wafts all over, including in the hallways. We hated that and don't like to expose our kids to it. The food was ok, a few of the dinners were better than others. Unlike other cruises, the buffet hours are extremely limited, which doesn't work when you need to get something for your kids. You are left with the "fast food" options much of the time (just like Disneyland!!). They did have nice fresh fruit available which we did appreciate. But it was impossible to find a PB sandwich, which is what our kids want for lunch. I had to scrounge for it each day, gathering PB packets at breakfast, and sliced bread at lunch (they never had any of this out).

Another aspect we didn't like was the design of the ship. It seemed much smaller and more crowded than any ship we'd been on. Part of this is there are lots of kids (and many strollers) and everyone does everything, which may be different from other ships. The design (many tight spaces, esp in the buffet area) didn't seem to accommodate this well.
