EMBARKMENT: This was my husbands 6th cruise and my 8th, but 1st with HAL. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the service. We arrived the day before and stayed overnight. We were told to go back to the airport and pick-up our transportation to the ship. We waited quite awhile and I had to call my travel agent to see what happened. She assured me someone would be along shortly. The women who showed up didn't have a Hal uniform on and her sign was in her pocketbook which was in the basket of a luggage cart. If my husband hadn't heard our name we would have never known. We arrived at the terminal around noon and was greeted by a very rude young lady who said we really didn't have a suite and then to sit down and wait for our number to be called. I asked what number and she grabbed a card from another person and handed it us. The rest of the process was fairly organized and we were in our room within 45 mins. SUITE: Our suite was roomy, not quite a big as other suites we have had, but the veranda was wonderful. Bed was comfortable and there was lots of storage space. SERVICE: This was lacking to say the least. Our room was never cleaned before noon and never turned back down before 9-9:30. This was rather inconvenient for us a few nights as we wants to go to bed early and couldn't. We had to also ask a few times to get our water replenished. FOOD: The food was very good. We had a nice variety and it was usually warm and as ordered. Again the problem was the service. We had an early seating and most nights didn't finish till 7:30. ENTERTAINMENT: We enjoyed most nights and it seemed to get better toward the latter days of the cruise. SHORE EXCURSIONS: My husband went diving and was alittle disappointed but we were partially reimbursed for them. I swam with the stingrays and dolphins and loved every minute of it. Would definitely do them again. DISEMBARKMENT: Went very smoothly. Loved being able to stay in our room till our floor was called Would we cruise with HAL again, maybe. Always willing to give a second chance.
