First of all, this was a wonderful cruise. It was me (23), my mom (48), my grandma (80) and my great-uncle (78).
Tampa: We flew to Tampa 2 days prior to the cruise and stayed at the Residence Inn downtown. This was a wonderful place to stay. It shares a pool and courtyard with the Courtyard by Marriott. The Residence Inn has a shuttle service within three miles (free!) and you get the driver's cell phone number so you can call him directly. There was a wonderful continental breakfast and the Courtyard next door has a restaurant that is open for breakfast and dinner with the best bacon cheeseburgers on the planet. They also serve alcohol. Either hotel is a great place to stay in Tampa.
Embarkation: Embarkation was very easy. We got to the port around 10:45 and were one of the first in line behind a wedding party. There were no lines and we were on the lido deck eating lunch by noon. Muster drill was at 3:30. We got there early and ended up in back, which was okay because we could lean up against the ship. Tip: Do not put your life jacket on until they tell you too. Otherwise you will just have to take it off and put it back on again.
