This was our first Carnival cruise and 3rd overall cruise. Left March 3 out of Long Beach with the easiest embarkation ever. Carnival terminal here is fantastic and fast. Maybe a 15 minute wait before getting to the counter. Went straight to the Lido deck for lunch. Plenty to choose from and the food was much better than I imagined. Went down to our room about 1:30 and unpacked. U91 is enough for a couple that just sleeps there. Nothing fancy but functional. Arrived next morning to Catalina Island for a fun day walking around the quaint town. Also rented a golf cart ($40 hr.) and drove around and up into the hills. Great pictures of the ship and town. Excellent dinner in the Elation and the staff were ever so great. Raffi and Ciello were our waiters and fun to talk to. Nice couple from the Fresno area were our table guests. Food each night we ate here was excellent. Ensenada is a typical fishing port. Lots of shops to barter in. If you don't barter you over paid. Had lunch at mango mango. Should have gone back to the ship. The food there was not great! Let's leave it at that. Fish market was fun to walk through but not smell. I laugh thinking they kept trying to sell me fish. can't imagine the looks I would have gotten bring that back to the ship. Fun 3rd day at sea. Take sun block or you'll get toasted like me. Friday morning we were first to depart with our luggage. Fast exit from ship and parking garage and on the road by 7:30. Would I recommend this ship, you bet. It was clean throughout. the shows were fun to attend. The staff and crew were the best. Thank you Carnival for a nice anniversary cruise with my wife of 31 years!
