This will be the 9th cruise i have been on but the first on RC believe it or not.I've been on celebrity,dolphin and carnival.So i was really looking forward to this one. Day 1 Arrived in sunny fla.a day early to be on the safe side.We stayed at the bahia Mar,nice place but we could not check in until 4.We were there at 11.Our bags were put in a lockup so we hung around in long pants and long sleeves til check in.We found a good watering hole at the Elbow room.Next time we'll have shorts in the carry on. Day 2 Took a cab to the ship at 11 just to beat the crowd that would arrive at 3 via vouchers given from the cruise line.Check in was fast and painless.Had a cocktail in hand by noon.Nice ship!Sailed at 5.Ate at the windjammer that night,Too many cocktails to do the formal seating. Day 3 At sea.Checked out the ship from head to toe.Enjoyed doing nothing.Had dinner at Chops.Great food and service!Talked to alot of people,some were not so happy with this ship after sailing on RC in the past.Gee,I thought it was pretty nice. Day 4 Belize.Went snorkeling. It was probably one of the best trips I have been on for seeing lots of fish.Did not go into town.We heard alot of bad things about the town as far as crime,etc.Had dinner in the My fair lady dining room.Very nice.Waiters were great. Day 5 Cozumel.Great shopping and food.We have been there a number of times before.Actually we meant on a cruise back in 1999.Partied at Carlos and Charlies again where it all began. Day 6 Key west.More great shopping and partying.The only down side was we were only there 4 hours due to customs.You would think that arriving at noon and leaving at 5:30 they would try to arrange the time schedule better if we have to do customs here.Takes forever. Day 7 Back to Ft.lauderdale.What a bummer.Something about leaving a ship really is the worst feeling in the world.Back to reality i guess.Our flight to Rochester new york was cancelled.No flights until tuesday,and here it is saturday.Flew to Atlanta to visit the relatives.Oh well. Overall,I guess anyone can find fault about anything.We went on this cruise with the idea of lets just enjoy it and no complaining.However the last nite at the My fair lady they did not serve the usual lobster and prime rib.I was told they are cutting back on expenses.Well i wish i could have cut back on expenses when i booked this trip then.They have stopped the midnite buffet for that reason also.If the cruise lines are going to take away the frills that brought us here,maybe my next vacation will be on land instead.I was told princess still has what RC doesn't.I think maybe a matter of time before the cruise industry shoots itself in the foot here.
