Embarkation: We live in Orange County, California so this was a nice perk to be able to get up and take our time getting to the ship. From Lake Forest it took us only 40 minutes from our doorstep to the terminal. When we got there at 1:00pm the line for embarkation was really long. The only perk to having a suite is the priority embarkation so luckily we were able to bypass this line. When I inquired about it at check in, they said that every Sunday the line is this long, so come early or come late. The ship sails at 4:00pm and you need to be on board by 3:30pm. When we arrived on the ship at 1:10pm our room was ready so we headed up there. It was really nice and clean. We then headed up to the 9th floor where the Mermaids Grill is located, the lines for the buffet were pretty long. The pool was open but it was too cold to swim. The Muster Drill was the fastest that we have ever had.

Room: Our room was very nice. Our room Steward Jose was very efficient and the towel animals were great. He exceeded our expectations. We have been on 3 Carnival cruises and 1 Holland America Cruise and the service was on par with all other cruises.

Food: The food was great in the dining room, please do have the lobster and shrimp plate on the first formal night. It is fantasitc! I know some people think that it's not that great so they make reservations for the supper club, but make those reservations on another night. We did not try the supper club this trip but we have in the past and we heard great things about this one. I travel with my 3 year old son so a 3 hour dinner would not really work for me. Food in the buffet kinda fell short for me. Breakfast in the Mermaids Grill was the same every day as was Breafast in the dining room but in the dining room it is full service, hence we had breakfast in the dining room 5 out 7 days. There was always a line for omelettes in the buffet. But you can get it in the dining room served to you with a number of sides. Please do try this at least once, you'll probably never eat in the buffet again for breakfast. The deli was OK, we didn't really have anything from the deli except for a ham and cheese melt with tomatoe, it was ok. Pizza was great, the crust was light, fluffy, buttery and great, however after the 4th time I was done. The grill outside was terrific. Try the minute steak sandwich for a real treat.
