First let me give you a brief overview of my spouse and I, we were first time cruisers in our mid 30's and wanted to stick with a shorter cruise to see if it was something that we would both enjoy. Here is our summary. We flew into Sanford/Orlando the day before our cruise and was greeted by a reserved shuttle from A1A shuttle service, these guys were awesome and we would highly recommend them for any of your transportation needs around Florida. We were transported to Port Canaveral to stay at The Radisson at the port. Keep in mind due to a delay with our plane we got there around 11p so it was a short stay. It was a nice accommodation and free shuttle service from the hotel to the port. Embarkation: We boarded around 1 p.m. it was really smooth. We went through the sign in process and was on the boat with in 30mins. Totally impressed after reading some of the reviews. Once there on board were going to proceed to the lido deck but was advised that the rooms were ready so we could go right to them. We found our room and was presently surprised. It was spacious enough for us cause we weren't planning on being there much. I brought power strip but never used it. Our room steward was fabulous (Sanjay)made sure our room met our expectations, and always greeted us by our first name. Totally amazed with the respect knowing the amount of people he sees on a monthly basis. Loved the towel animals and the refill of ice several times a day. Dining was great. Better then cafeteria food. Honestly we didn't know what to expect, but both enjoyed the cheeseburgers, salad bar, breakfast selections, and alternative dining needs when we didn't go to the dining room. My husband enjoyed the ice cream and I enjoyed the jello and mango cake. He also raved about the roast beef. We both thought the pizza was o.k. We only did the dining in the fantasy dining room 2 of our 4 nights. The portions were just perfect and if something was wrong our service steward Manny was great. Keep in mind we went to dining on the 1st and last night and even though we had missed 2 nights in between yet again we were remembered. I had chicken on both occasions and my husband had steak one time and salmon another. If you are a desert person then you must save room for their chocolate melting cake. Tasty... The entertainment was great, several shows, a Comedian and other side show's Survivor, Newly Wed game etc I never laughed so hard in my life. Bingo we didn't care much for. To them its a filler between events and it's costly to the average person. We visited the casino one time and both lost the $10.00 we started with. So needless to say we didn't hit the jackpot. I did go to the spa and have a pedicure. It was an extra treat for me, It was pricey but I really enjoyed it. We did do a shore excursion in Nassau "The Historical Highlights tour" We were all carted around in small older model mini vans. Wasn't worth the 40$. Need I say more. If we went to Nassau again we could hire a taxi and go to Atlantis and see the Aquarium which we were told was free by fellow cruisers. The last day of our cruise was really rocky. We headed into a storm. I'm very sensitive to motion and I didn't get sick I took bonine on 3 of the 4 days just as a precaution. No problems what so ever. My husband never has any motion issues. Disembarkation was yet again a breeze, once our zone was called we were off the ship within about 45 minutes. Just a side note, make sure you fill out the required paper work before your cruise and for parting I think this will help the speed of all processes for you. In discussing our experience with each other we had a wonderful time on the Sensation and wouldn't hesitate sailing on it again. As first time cruisers we went into it with a open mind, saying that things can't always be perfect, we made sure we enjoyed every minute of it and we would have spoken up if we had a concern but never did. The cruise exceeded our expectations, we had a great time and are looking forward to another cruise in 2009.
