Traveled with children

I just got back today on the Gem from a 7 day Bahamas and Florida trip. I travelled with my wife and two small children. This was our 7th cruise. Let me just start with a one word summary. HORRID!!! This was by far the most disappointing travel experience I've had whether by land, sea, or air. I don't know where to start, so Ill just get into it.

Dining: First off, the freestyle stuff is bunk!! You need a reservation to go to a restaurant! There is 1 where you can just walk in, but the service is awful, and there is always a wait. I never heard so much cussing on a cruise in my life. There are places to eat, where you can pay an additional charge for, and they are good. So on this cruise line you have to pay to enjoy your meal as you do on other lines for free.

Service: Is so bad it is almost antagonistic!! The wait staff and the reception staff have no idea what they are doing!!The reception staff only knows how to say no or " I don't know" when asked the simplest question or for the simplest accommodation. Also EVERYTHING is an extra charge: coffee, tea, juice, soda. The spa services are so overpriced, its like they want you to feel like an idiot.
