Liberty of the Seas
We left MSP on a 6:15 AM Sun Country direct flight to Miami. When we arrived in Miami we boarded a transfer bus and were off to the cruise terminal. Once we arrived at the cruise terminal, the ship looked amazing towering over port. We arrived at the terminal at noon and waited in line to get in, it took about fifteen minutes to get to the registration desk. We waited in line at the registration desk for another fifteen minutes. After we filled out the health questionnaire we received our sign and sail cards and were on our way to the ship. We did the internet check in and this helped speed up the registration process.
We boarded at 1pm and our room was ready. We headed up to check out our room. Deck 7 # 7356. This was an outside balcony room. The room was spacious and the patio larger than previous ships we had been on. We quickly changed and headed up to the windjammer for some lunch.
Windjammer was busy as this was the first day and nothing else was open. After the jammer we headed for the pool area to relax and have a cocktail. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool and lounging in the solarium hot tub that hangs off the side of the ship 30 feet.
Day 1- Missed the meet and mingle party. It was at 10 am and we were hardly ready to meet at that point in the morning. We worked out in the wonderful gym and then ate breakfast in the jammer. The rest of the day was spent kicking back pool side. Like always the beverage service was great! We decided to beat the rush to Johnny rockets and ate lunch there. It was fun as always and great burgers and shakes.
Dinner was at 830 PM and were in the Rembrandt dinning on deck 3 table 318. Our Table was right next to the captions table. This was the first formal night and our group had a great time. Our waiter Albert, was always very informative, gave good recommendations and had great service. Each night after dinner he would tell us a joke or show us a magic trick.
Day 2 -Labadee We waited 45 minutes to get on a tender in the morning. My advice is to go early to miss the lines. The island is great. It has changed a lot since 1999, the last time we visited there. We just laid on the beach and relaxed. Had fun watching all the people go by on the zip line. The price seemed a little steep for one ride.
Day 3- Montego Bay. We booked the canopy tour. We had done this 2 years ago when we stayed in Jamaica for a week. Our friends wanted to try it and we had blast. The tour is great and the guides make it that much more fun. The tour is a little long because the road you take off the main road is very slow going. All and all it is a fun tour. We tried to make it back to eat at the pork pit but we only had an hour to spare so we decided to get back on the ship. We went to Sorrentos for pizza, like we did many days. The pizza is good and hits the spot. We made our usual afternoon stop at the café promenade for warm, soft chocolate chip cookies.
Day 4- Grand Cayman. We arrived and tendered ashore with no problems. We walked around town a bit, and then it was off to Captain Marvin's for swim with the sting rays. We booked this directly with them with no hassle or problems. Their meeting spot is 250 feet out to the left from the tender dock. There were 40 of us total in the group. We left on a small boat and headed out to reef. We snorkeled first and then to the sting ray area. The sting ray area was beautiful, very sandy and perfect blue water. At first everyone was a little apprehensive to get in with the rays, but in time we all warmed up and had a blast. I would defiantly do this tour again!
Day 5- Cozumel. When we arrived it was windy and most excursions had been cancelled. We decide to head into downtown ladies shopped and guys found cheap beer. Get 8 people and cab ride is 2 bucks person. We found cheap beer $1 coronas 500 feet off the main road. We hit all the favorite spots Carlos and Charlie's, Senor Frogs, Fat Tuesdays.
Entertainment - The quest, love and marriage were fun as always. We saw the late night comedy and he had a good act. We missed the ice show and many other dinner shows. One performance we tried to catch was Pedro the guitar player. We first saw him at dinner one night. He played some great tunes. Queen; Bohemian Rhapsody, Led Zeppelin; Stairway to Heaven, Metallica; Enter sandman. He was great. We enjoyed his playing at many bars in the evenings.
We enjoy this type of ship with all of the different activities, the royal promenade and pool area. This is a great ship to get all different types of activities for all different kinds of people
Disembarking - All went smooth until we hit customs and there were only 2 ICE agents checking people back in. It just took a little longer. The whole process only took an hour from ship to checking in at the airport.
This is our 4 cruise and we will go again! Just want to say thanks to all who post on cruise critic, it makes the experience that much better for everyone!
