My husband and I are both people with disabilities. He is blind, I am deafblind and have extreme vertigo. We wanted to take a cruise for our wedding anniversary and needed our two assistance dogs-- Rudy age 4, my husband's guide dog, and Mill'E, age 5 my service dog, both golden retrievers.

We worked with Carnival's special needs department from the beginning. They appeared to be very unorganized. They lost our paperwork and kept changing the paperwork requirements. They promised that we'd have a dog relief area on the same level as our stateroom and that we would be given a tour of the ship upon our arrival.

We live in New Orleans, so we just took a cab to the terminal. Check in was very quick, and eventually we were taken to our stateroom on the main deck of the ship.
