No matter what you read here on cruise critics regarding NCL Pearl, you won't be disappointed. We had a great time...it's a great ship and Free Styling is the way to go!

Let me begin by saying that I've previously cruised 9 times, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival and Silver Seas...and as I read some of the reviews of NCL's Pearl on this website I was becoming somewhat concerned over all the negative comments. Having now just returned from a 9 days cruise (Feb 22, 2008) I can safely tell you that you will be pleasantly surprised, as my wife and I were.

We booked a mini-suite, mid-ship, with a balcony. Cabin 11546. The room was large and had more space and drawers then we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the room dividing curtain kept the room very dark so we were able to sleep in on the sea days. The bathroom was great, with a full size tub and a separate toilet area for some privacy. Hint #1 - the desk area has a minimum number of plugs so if you're going to need extra plugs, I suggest throwing in a power strip. Hint #2 - we travel with a sound machine (white noise) which drowns out exterior noise, although there wasn't much. On deck 11 you will hear some deck noise, but it's minor and was not a problem.
