This was my first RCL cruise. Have been on Carnival, NCL and Celebrity in the past. We flew from Philadelphia to Orlando. We were then taken by bus around 1PM to ship. No problems at all. Very good sign in but use the pre cruise on line forms. Mariner is fantastic. The crew and staff were very good and the cruise director Graham Seymour was a blast. The was plenty to do but I found that there were fewer things going on the pool deck then other trips I took. The was only one night party on the pool deck. The lounge bands were not as good as I had expected. Jim in the small Wig and Gavel lounge did a great job but the band in Ellingtons was weak. Most bars shut down around 1 a.m. . They had a 50's party in the Lotus Lounge for just one hour. What a shame. It was full and should have gone at least to one that night. Everything goes thru the promenade. Not enough seats in that area. My wife has a back problem so standing to watch all the things there was hard on her. We could not go into Cayman. Rough seas. I understood that but do you realize what they made in cash flow that day . The cruise line could give out a voucher or have a happy hour with specials that day to off set the missed port. Food in Windjammer good . Our waiter John and Asst. Waiter Mike were five stars. Other then the above few items the ship and trip were great. Ports Labadee fun, Jamaica much better port then several years ago and Cozumel is always great. The system leaving the ship was also well run and faster then I thought . However a two block line for inspection at the Orlando Airport was a bummer. They could come up with a better plan. I plan another cruise but will have to choose from NCL or RCL both are good values for the money.
