Well, i want to go into as much detail as possible without writing a book :) First i want to thank the members of cruise critic for all of their information. You are THE BEST!!! So, i arrived in San Juan at about 12pm, took a cab straight from the airport to the pier. The total was $20.50 for my niece and me with our 3bags. Saved a quick $20 from the carnival transfers. They are $15 pp, one way. So, we arrive at the pier, virtually NO LINE!! There are free rum samples in the duty free shop. Purchased two bottles of rum, tucked it into my carry on, and carried on. (plus 2 bottles of shiraz in my checked luggage) Anyway, got on in a breeze. I was in room 6257. smack in the middle of the ship. Not bad, a little rocking, but not bad. I don't remember the ports in order, ST.THOMAS: went to a beach called Megan's bay, 1-10, 6. beach. My boss has family there. We toured the island, went to a place i believe is called "hilltop" or "mountain top" & had a really good banana daiquiri. Wonderful view. BARBADOS, hmmm. When the ship docked, it was a hot mess. Some sort of cargo area. Took the "mercedes benz bus" about 5 minutes away, entered something really nice. forget the beaches name, but everyone goes there. $3 to get in, and maybe a few more for a chair. Coming back, we went through the market. Found some nice buys.

St. KITTS: I was looking for a place called "monkey beach". It was bought by a private owner and doesn't have the monkeys anymore. Went to friggats bay. a $20 round trip fare for me and the man. The drivers name is smokey and he was back for us when he said he would be. When you get to the bay, walk past where they initially drop you off. tell them you're just walking the beach. When you get a little further down, it's cleaner, and cozier. A lady named tricia waiting on us. I had my first "green" rum punch. It was a bit windy, and the waves were on, but i got some really nice shells from there. DOMINICA; didn't really care for it. Sorry, nothing good to say about it. Lastly, La Romana. I hear that they are doing away with this port, and rightly so. The first day there took a $5 shuttle to town. Central park square is what i believe it's called. Nothing special, took a walk over to the market called jumbo, met by rude, non english speaking workers. One of which i overheard telling her friend she wasn't helping me. Left there, returned to the ship and had fun. The next day there wasn't so bad. We hopped in a cab. $55 for 5 people, $11 per person after that. we had 7 in our party. We went to hyabeha beach, wrong name but similar, you'll see the name on the price list at the cab stand. Got even more nice shells at this beach.

Finally, the end! the ship is old, but was well taken care of. Food was good. I have to say it was kept VERY clean, even on the 6th night. I think that something more should be done about the herb smokers. I don't care what people do when they're on vacation, but when it affects me, then there's a problem. I hear that La Romana is docking there for the last time this coming sunday. I hear that is it very dangerous at night, plus where we dock, is very poor. Some people ventured off the boat at night & made it back safely, others just didn't go. I being one of them. Disembarkation was the BEST i've ever experienced. I don't know if it's new but some airlines participated in a program that allows customers to pay an extra $15 pp to take care of all luggage to your arriving airport. Unfortunately for me, US airways did not participate. Which by the way, i hated. Where was jetblue when i needed them. Had a 1:25 flight, classified as early. Had #3 from the #'s 1-32. headed off and sat in the airport for some hours. I loved the cruise, and would do it again. These are my opinions. just that! happy sailing!
