George & I left out of New York on Saturday, September 8, 2007 headed for Boston, MA, Portland, ME, St. John, New Brunswick, & Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our trip from Connecticut into New York was a breeze! We ended up with the same bus driver we had when we took the bus from NYC to Connecticut, May, 2006. That was when we had taken NCL's Spirit, which didn't really brighten up our spirits, out of NYC on Mother's Day. Anyway, Raje, our driver, was really happy to see us. He talked to us for most of the trip into NYC. It took only 2 hours to get there. Once we arrived at the Port Authority, Raje hailed us a cab, & off we went. This time, the cab drivers were on strike. We had a nice cab driver, who took us straight to the pier, no problems, no questions asked. He wasn't like our cab driver in September, 2006, when we had to call our travel agent from the cab, to get the address for the pier. This time, I had come prepared. I wrote the address down on a piece of paper, & told the cab driver where to take us. In fact, he was so nice, George told him to let us off so we could cross the street, instead of having to drive us all the way up the ramp & into the terminal drop off area. We breezed through the check in process, & within a half an hour, we were onboard our ship, & finally ready to start our vacation.

Our first stop was to check out our stateroom. We were so early, that we couldn't find the door to the hall way to lead to our stateroom. We finally found the closed door, opened it up, & discovered that they were still preparing our room for us. We left our stuff in the safe, then headed out to find the food & the action. The food in the buffet was good. However, we were stuck with the late dinner seating, & couldn't get it changed by the maitre d. That wasn't good because George can't eat after 8:00, & we had problems trying to reschedule our seating time. They never resolved the issue. The other couple at our table, from Buffalo, NY, weren't very friendly. We saw them the first night we were on board, & they were very rude. The wife even licked her chops and her fingers once she finished her dinner! How low class of them!

The next morning, we cruised into Boston, MA. It was fun to walk around the town, & to pay homage to the home of the 2007 MLB National Champions, The Boston Red Sox. We went to Quincy Market, & walked around there. The Cheers store wasn't really all it was cracked up to be. However, we enjoyed walking around the charming area of Boston. That evening, back on board, we decided not to go to the formal night. We ate at the buffet instead. We had asked to have our dinner sent up to our room, but they wouldn't do that for us. We still had the issue that went unresolved with George's eating time. We walked a lot around the ship, & went into one of the bars that had a dance floor & tons of televisions. It was cool to just sit back & watch as the people danced on the dance floor.
