Cruise/Embarkation

We had a direct morning of flight (we booked ourselves) to SJU. Originally I had booked through princess; however after combing through the boards it seemed prudent just to book my own flight (at right around the same price princess charged us). I cancelled in mid-December. Embarkation was very easy. We did use a princess transfer. I would say from the time we said hello to the transfer to the time we got to our cabin was about 1-1.5 hours. No extended waiting in line. Basically walked on, few initial wrong turns on the boat. Room: Lido 238, deck 15, starboard side Thought the location was convenient. Did like that our balcony was on top, no one to look down on us. Cabin steward, Jose, did a great job. Our egg crate topper, down pillows were in room as requested. We made a few towel requests/top sheet requests, which was handled well by jose the entire cruise. He was very good, had new pool towels every day, everything was kept immaculate, ice in our fridge every night, toiletries replenished. Though the bathroom is small, it was immaculate, well lit, and I did not think just having a shower curtain was a problem. Good water pressure. Good closet space, with hanging closet floor to ceiling and skinny cabinet (floor to ceiling) with shelves. You can definitely feel a lot of movement up here. Its been awhile since I've been on a cruise ship but I don't remember feeling so much movement. And though it seem strange occ the entire room would shudder (this may have been from doors being closed above us, hard to tell the spa was above us). It was disconcerting at first but easily got used to it.

The ship: Very elegant, as has been said before. We did explore the ship just by walking around the first day. Didn't take up much time, really you just need to explore the main areas of floors 5-7, and then the lido area deck 15-16 area. If you take some time to look you will realize there is always a lounge chair available somewhere on the boat on sea day, as there are many "hidden" areas with lounge chairs.
