Traveled with children

We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids (11 & 8) travelling with our parents in their 60's. We chose Summit for its great itinerary, that included Dominica, a generally hard to get to island, and Grenada, the Spice Island. These are both islands with lots to do and intrigue.

We are long time cruisers, having cruised on Carnival Liberty, Carnival Valor, Carnival Victory, Carnival Fascination, RCCL Sovereign of the Seas, and Majestic's MV Royal Majesty.

Flew from Newark to San Juan on the noon nonstop flight and took a cab to Summit ($23.00). Embarkation was simple, since we arrived at 5:00 p.m. ship's time and most people boarded around 2pm. The ship was not scheduled to leave San Juan until 11:30 p.m., so this was no problem.
