We have decided that a southern Caribbean cruise was the one we would go on. We chose the Carnival line because the previous year we were in port and the Carnival ships all had more balconies than our NCL ship had. So the choice was to go with Carnival on our next cruise.

We flew to San Juan, took a cab to the cruise port and the VIP lounge was kind of difficult to find. The lady at the desk was indifferent towards us and if I was her boss she would have been taken aside. She did however get us our sign and sale cards and we were off.. We went around the corner, had our free drinks and then proceeded through security.

We were in Room 7188 which was one of the category 12 rooms. It was big and spacious but going into the bathroom there was a smell in there. It wasn't because the room was dirty. It was because water was getting behind the tiles behind the tub/shower. After every shower, there was water on the floor but it wasn't coming around the curtain. It was going behind the wall tiles and underneath and down around the tub and out onto the floor. We called a number of times making it known what was wrong but nothing was ever done about it. It has been like that for a while as there was a MOLD smell in the bathroom that was bad. For one of the highest category/revenue rooms, you would have thought a little bit more TLC would be in order with regards to maintaining. I hope someone from Carnival reads this because the maintenance crew on the boat doesn't seem to care. Is mold and mildew healthy??
