My wife and I sailed on the Destiny Feb 3, 2008. We are late (really late) 40s. This was our fifth cruise. We sailed Celebrity once, and then Carnival the last four. This was our second time on the Destiny. We really love the itinerary on this ship. To begin our cruise, we logged on to the Cruise Critic Roll Call and met many nice people sailing with us. Several of us met at Senor Frogs in San Juan on the Saturday before sailing. But wait, I get ahead of myself.

We drove from Fargo North Dakota to the twin cities of Minneapolis and St Paul in Minnesota. We spent the night at the Spring Hill Suites in Eagan MN. We utilized their stay and fly program and paid 109.00 for the night and were able to park our car for up to 14 nights. They shuttled us to the Airport early Saturday morning; just a 10 minute ride from the hotel. We boarded our flight on AA and flew to Chicago O'Hare. I was concerned about flying through Chicago, but it went very smoothly. We arrived in San Juan around 4:00 pm, picked up our luggage and then went to the Taxi stand. They placed us in the taxi and 15 minutes later we were at the Sheraton Old San Juan. The Taxi cost 26.00 for the two of us and our bags. Standing in front of the hotel, you can see the cruise ship terminal and it is a quick easy walk to board the ship.

Saturday night before the cruise was great. We met at Senor Frogs with 4 other couples we met through our Cruise Critic Roll Call. What a great group of people. It was an odd experience though, there was a gymnastics team (8-14 year olds) from NY eating in the restaurant and they came over to the bar section to dance to a song, and never left. In fact during the music trivia shot contest, the kids were all over the stage and dance floor as the adults in the bar were answering music trivia question and running up to the stage to slam shots for the correct answer. We all agreed (except the kids) to meet again.
