Sail Date: Mar 2004

Embarkation: Dropped off our Large bags in the bins at the taxi drop off. Lines to the carry on bag check were about 10-15 min. then another 10-15 min to get to the checkin line, then a long walk to the sail and sign card pickup, then security photos for the ports of call reboarding (when reboarding they swipe your card and your picture comes up to show that it's really you and not someone who may have found or stolen your card while ashore). Next up are the preboarding pictures. Then to the gang plank to the ship.

Cabins: My cabin was great, I had a balcony 7-8 feet wide and 3-4 feet long with glass below the rail for an unobstructed view. A bungie cord would probably work great to keep the door open, but we just used a chair and wedged it in the doorway. KEEPING THE DOOR OPEN WILL CAUSE A STRONG DRAFT when you open the door to the hallway. The papers left on the tables in the room were flying all over the place when my parents came to visit me and my sister. If you wanted to hook up your camcorder to the tv bring something to hook up via Coaxial cable as there is no VCR in the rooms. I read in someone's review that they did have VCR's so I opted to leave my extra connections at home. Bathrooms are of decent size and they provide shampoo, shower gel and bar soap. Mirrored cabinet with three shelves in it to store personal items and a long shelf under the counter to store even more stuff. There are 3 cabinets, 1 full length closet, 1 closet with 2 bars and the last closet has your in-room safe and some shelves. There were 3 drawers, a night stand and some additional shelves under our TV and smaller shelves just to the right. My parents room didn't have the shelves under or next to their tv. Their room had a tv stand attached to the wall, and where our shelves were was just open space.

Dining: I thought that the food was the same for breakfast and lunch with little change for the whole week. Dinner was when the really good and different foods came out. There was always something that I hadn't tried on the menu and sometimes there were even things that there was no way I was going to try, but I'm sure others did. Example: Escargot and Squid (calamari) Eww!
