We were disappointed in celebrity on this cruise. Service was not up to par. We have cruised with the constellation 3 other times and changed ships for variety. The summit is a sister ship so should have been comparable. To their credit, they did respond quickly-within 3 hours!- after we turned in comment card. Our waiter was not calling us by name, suggesting highlights each night at supper or remembering what we liked to drink and how we liked our foods. We always had this experience on constellation. Also waiter blew off concern by fellow tablemate that dessert had nuts in chocolate since wife was very allergic. Waiter gave vague response three time to inquiry by hsb. In response to card, maitre de (spell?) came to our table, expressed concern, asked to speak to us after dinner, and assured us problems had been addressed with staff. Waiter was much better, doing all of above, and finally naming all desserts, not just pastries. We did chat and he was very concerned about allergy situation and stated nuts are indeed in all chocolates!! He stated would follow up with other couple also on this. Was surprised that response was so quick and comprehensive. They actually listened and did something!! Food not as good as on Constellation either. All breakfast buffet the same. Only 1 or 2 items changed each day.
Ship also going in for refit in April-wish we had know that before booking-would have booked a different ship. It definitely needs redone! Our cabin had big chip out of cabinetsand mold in shower stall.
Loved the CC touches! We have booked CC before and it is the way to go!-especially express embarkation and debarkation!! Champagne and flowers were nice too.
