WE booked our cruise directly through the cruise line. We had 7 people and 4 rooms booked for this cruise. We were suppose to get luggage tags sent to our homes and only 2 of us got our luggage tags, so, we had to find a princess representative at the airport to get additional tags. We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale on Sat. Feb 2 and book a hotel through the cruise line. They put us in the Marriott North and it was a beautiful hotel. No problems there at all, very nice. We booked transfers from airport to hotel, from hotel to port, from port to airport. All was good except we found out that the hotel will call for transportation from the hotel to the pier that will get you there much earlier than the transportation you book through the cruise line. We were told to meet the cruise line representatives around 10:00 a.m. but the buses don't get there til around 1:00 p.m. You don't board the ship til around 2:00 p.m. We decided to have the hotel call for a van for us and we were on the ship by 12:00. The princess representative was rude when we told her we made other arrangements to get to the ship and she told us we wouldn't be able to get on early anyway but we we on by noon. So my advice to you would be to not purchase a transfer through the cruise line just have the hotel call for transportation and you should get on early. No problems getting through embarkation, went very smooth. Got to our cabin and our luggage showed up by the time we were finished with lunch and checking out the ship. We had a balcony room. It was very nice but I must say that 2 yrs. ago we were on the Carnival Victory ship and we were upgraded to a balcony room and it had more room. I don't know if it was a mini-suite but, it had more room. Our room on this cruise was nice, well kept, plenty of space to hang clothes and closet space. Eduardo, our room steward, was very attentive and introduced himself to us as soon as he saw us. I was somewhat disappointed because on our Carnival cruise they had towel art on your bed every night and this cruise didn't. Not that that's a big deal but it makes it more of a personal touch. We had first seating for dinner and it was very nice, our wait staff was wonderful. Gulah and Tippy we great!! The food was good, no problems there. They however do not dance only on the last night. I enjoyed them dancing on my other cruise. The theater is another thing. If you didn't get there right after dinner you did not get a seat for the show. The theater is very small. Some people will stay from the first show to the second show so this also creates some people not to see a show at all. They should empty the theater out after shows and allow people waiting for the next show to get a seat and if there are any left the people who already saw it then could see it again that way more people aren't left out. I didn't care to much for the production shows, it reminded me of a high school play, thought it could be alot better, however, Sarge, the juggler and some of the other shows were great. The hypnotist was great too!! The casino was nice !! Alot larger than the Carnival Victory ship. My mother won 2 times on the first night on the slots. Won enough to play the rest of the week. Skywalkers is a neat place at night, if you want to dance that's the place to be, nice view during the day also. My brother and sister-in-law used the spa and seemed to enjoy that, I didn't hear any complaints about it. I liked the fact that there were more than enough lounge chairs for everyone on the ship. We had no problems with finding a lounger, however, when we were on our other cruise we could not find a lounge chair anywhere. On this ship if you aren't using it within a half hour you are not allowed to save it for someone. That was nice b/c you didn't have to get there at sun up like on our other ship to put something on a chair so that you have one for the day. We did the catamaran sail snorkel and lunch on the beach in St. Maarten. The catamaran sail was nice and the snorkelers liked it and the beach was ok, it wasn't a great beach and they gave you lounge chairs but no umbrellas and the sun is pretty hot for an older person without an umbrella. Next was St. Thomas. Loved it here. Just beautiful. Did the Atlantis Submarine, that was awesome !! Then went to Paradise Point. What a Beautiful View. Get Banana Daiquiris and Bushwackers !! They are Fabulous!! Went to Princess Cays. Had a great day there ! Beautiful island, good food, very nice. All in all a great time. Getting off the ship was no problem, sat our luggage out the night before and everything went smoothly. Had to get new luggage tags from what they gave us to get off b/c we had an earlier flight and they sent us the wrong tags but went to the office and got new ones and no problems. Picked our luggage up when we got off the ship and they had a bus waiting and off we went to the airport.

All in all it was a wonderful trip. I didn't think the ship was as elegant and the other ship I was on but they are all different and I missed the extra little touches, but it was a very beautiful ship. Well kept and clean and roomy. Good food, good drinks and good company. Couldn't ask for anything more.
