Sail Date: Jan 2008

Since the rest of my family sailed on the Magic in December and I could not go since I was taking care of my 94 year old mother, my daughter and family presented me with a WDW/DCL vacation in January. We were at Saratoga Springs for 3 days and on Saturday drove to Melbourne and stayed at the Crowne Plaza which is an oceanfront hotel. Really nice! Saturday night we went to Grill's Restaurant and watched the Magic sail off. On Sunday, January 27th we got to the port early for our 4-day Wonder cruise to the Bahamas. We were among the first group to get on and went to the Beach Blanket Buffet which was just great. After getting our cabin on Deck 2 we went to the lifeboat drill and sailaway party (which was fun as usual). I've sailed to the Western Caribbean on the Magic once and twice on the Wonder (enjoyed all three).

Cabin: 2554 is on deck 2 midship and really handy to everything. It has a large porthole and is very spacious. We really enjoyed the size and proximity to everything. Our room steward was terrific and even though we were two adults, he left us towel animals every night. He took care of our needs in a quiet, unobtrusive way and was always extremely pleasant to chat with.

Meals and Servers: I thought that the food had improved since our last trip and really enjoyed all of our meals. We had breakfast in Tritons one morning and found the menu to be both delicious and extensive. We also had the champagne brunch at Palos and both agreed we like the brunch better than dinner there although both are superb. Our servers were terrific and we usually went with their recommendations and were not at all sorry we did. Pirate night was a lot of fun and our servers went out of their way to see we had a good time.
