Sail Date: Jan 2008

This was my 2nd trip on RCI. We sailed from Puerto Rico 1/26/08. We stayed at the Marriott Stellaris San Juan the night before. The hotel is right on the beach. It's very clean and has very nice rooms. I'd definitely recommend staying there. We boarded the ship around 1pm. It was like a ghost-town in the boarding area - no lines at all. We were able to go directly to our rooms without any wait.

The ship was nice and overall we had fantastic service. Our waiter, Olga (from Turkey) and assistant waiter, Daniel (from Chile) not only provided spectacular service but they made dinner fun. We laughed every night. This was the first cruise that we actually wanted to go to the dining room every night. We had late seating, which was also nice because there was time to relax before dinner - especially since we were in a different port each day. Our stateroom service was average, but nothing really to complain about. We had a balcony room - which was smaller than our balcony room on Adventure of the Seas. The space wasn't utilized as it should've been as there were areas of the cabin that you had to turn sideways to keep going (between the bed and tv to the balcony door). But, given that we were off the ship every day, this wasn't a real issue.

This was our 3rd trip to St Martin/Maarten. We absolutely love the excursion to Orient Beach. On the way back to the ship, stop in town to eat at Au Petit Cafe. This was also our 3rd year to eat there. It's in one of the small alley ways to the right...look for the old car and just past it will be Au Petit. The service, food and atmosphere are wonderful. Our fave meal...salad, mini pizza and crepes with sugar and lime juice.
